Azerbaijan, Baku, 7 August / Trend corr. E. Ismayilov / State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) plans to drill 200,000m until the end of 2008, against 190,000m in 2007.
SOCAR reported that in January to July 2008, it drilled 122,785m, against 123,349m in 2007. In July, drilling totaled 18,038m against 19,896 in 2007.
In January to July, production drilling totalled 119,800m, against 119,422m forecasted in the same period of last year. In July, production drilling comprised 17,393m, against 19,874m in the same period in 2007.
Exploration drilling comprised 2,985m in the accounted period, which is by 942 m less than forecasted in 2007. In July 2008, exploration drilling totalled 645m against 22m in the same period in 2007.
