Caspian Pipe Coatings Concrete Tubes for New Gas Pipeline of SOCAR

Azerbaijan, Baku, 28 August / Trend / Within two weeks, Caspian Pipe Coatings plant concreted 1,173 tubes with 13km length to construct Bahar-Hovsan-Surakhani gas pipeline, which is designated to supply North power station and suburbs of Baku with gas, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) said on 28 August. The plant began to concrete tubes in mid-August.

Total length of 20-inch Bahar-Hovsan-Surakhani pipeline is 49km (sea part - 37km and surface - 12km). The pipeline is one of the hugest properties, which will be put into exploitation within the framework of the SOCAR's gas program in 2008.

The program envisages increasing SOCAR's gas production to 8bln cu.m on independently developed fields and 7bln cu.m of them will belong to the State.

According to the official website of the SOCAR, 50% of shares in capital of Caspian Pipe Coatings plant belongs to the SOCAR, 45% to Azertrans company and 5% to Azinvest.
