Ukraine, Kiev, 28 October / Trend corr. Z.Novosvitski/ Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko stated an agreement and contracts on supply of gas from Russia to Ukraine in 2009 may be signed in November.
"I suppose we will complete the signing within November. I am sure we will come to mutual understanding and will sign all relevant documents with Russia," she said to journalists on 27 October.
A while ago Naftogaz of Ukraine said Ukraine may commence signing of gas agreements and contracts next week.
President Viktor Yushchenko said Kiev is on the verge of signing gas agreements with Russia. "This year the agreement will be signed earlier than that was last year," President said, adding that direct talks between the Naftogaz of Ukraine and Russia's Gazprom are underway and the last several details are being coordinated.
