SOCAR to Considerably Increase Number of Filling Station in Georgia

Azerbaijan, Baku, 30 October/ Trend , corr E. Ismayilov/ SOCAR will have 35 to 40 filling stations under SOCAR in Georgia brand by 2009, a source in SOCAR Georgia said. About 24-25 filling stations are expected to be opened by the end of the year.

"We plan to open three filling stations in Batumi. The number of filling stations will total to 35 to 40 in 2009," a source said.

SOCAR will increase the number of filling stations in Georgia to 60 in two to three years.

At present, SOCAR Georgia has 16 filling stations across Georgia. New filling station was opened in Ponichala province several days ago. One more filling station is expected to be opened in Vahushti province this week. By the end of the year, company plans to put into operation seven more filling stations in Tbilisi, one in Dmansk, Kutaisi and Zestofan each.

SOCAR Georgia co-founders include SOCAR - 51%, Petro Trans FZCO - 32.7% and Ivan Chkhartishvili - 16.3%.
