Kazakhstan, Astana, 9 Dec/ Trend corr K. Konirova/ TengizChevroil consortium needs about 24,000 cisterns to maintain oil transportation from Tengiz field of Kazakhstan. Director general of First Cargo Company Salman Babayev said to Trend that the company has reached an agreement with TengizChevroil to provide 5,000 cisterns for oil transportation.
"We do not have problems in providing rolling-stocks to transport of Tengiz oil. We will provide the same number of cisterns they request," Babayev said commenting on possible deficit of cisterns since the transportation of oil from Tengiz to Azerbaijan.
Babayev said First Cargo Company is not only partner of Tengiz Chevroil on the delivery of Tengiz oil through railway.
In Nov, American company ChevronTexaco, operator of TengizChevroil, transported 70,000 tons of oil from Tengiz field via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline. In Nov, TengizChevroil also began transportation of oil via railway until Georgia's Kulevi and Batumi ports.
The total length of BТС is 1.768km, including the 443km section running via Azerbaijan, the 249km section via Georgia and the 1.076km via Turkey. Construction of the pipeline was commenced in April 2003 and it was filled with oil on 18 May 2005.
The shareholders of BTC are BP (30.1%), AzBTC (25%), Chevron (8.90%), StatoilHydro (8.71%), TRAO (6.53%), Eni (5%), Total (5%), Itochu (3.40%), Inpex (2.50%), ConocoPhilips (2.50%) and Hess (2.36%).
