Gulf Drilling to implement drilling for Azerbaijani onshore operating companies

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 22/ corr. Trend E. Ismaylov/ Gulf Drilling Supply FZE company (United Arab Emirates), which deals with drilling, will drill three exploitation wells for the Surakhani oil operating company, which develops onshore fields of Azerbaijan, Ilham Babayev, director of Azerbaijani representation of the company, said on Dec. 22.

"Drilling operations are planned to be launched by the end of 2008. They will be completed within three months," Babayev said. Depth of the wells will make up 2,200-2,500 meters.

Gulf Drilling has also an order from Azgerneft JV to drill a well. The enterprise developed Balakhani-Sabunchi-Ramani fields in Azerbaijan, the depth of which was 2,300 meters. The talks on the second well drilling for this customer are held, Babayev said.

The talks are also held to fulfill work for other onshore companies operating in Azerbaijan and Georgia. During drilling, the company uses plant ZJ-30 of China, its maximal depth of drilling makes up 3,000 meters.

Within a year of work, the company spent about AZN 15mln to purchase equipment, head of Baku representation of the company said. The purchased equipment includes rigs, equipment for capital repair of wells, technologies and equipment to increase oil production in wells.
