Qatar intends to increase production of liquefied natural gas

Azerbaijan, Baku, Dec. 23/ Trend , A. Badalova/ "Qatar as one of the leaders on gas export will make all necessary efforts to develop cooperation in gas export," Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, energy and industry minister of Qatar, said at the forum of gas exporting countries on Dec. 23.

"We will develop industry on dry natural gas (LNG) production by building one of the largest enterprises which will produce 7.8mln tones of liquefied natural gas, Al Attiyah said. These figures, totally, will lead to increase of gas production, as well as liquefied natural gas within two years".

Qatar makes all the necessary efforts to develop navy capable to transport liquefied natural gas in order to ensure world growth of demand for LNG, he said.

There are 56 vessels of such kind in Qatar, minister said.

"We are able to deliver large consignments," Al Attiyah said.

Minister also offered to organize headquarter of forum of gas exporting countries in Doha.
