Rompetrol shipped first consignment of Euro-5 diesel

Kazakhstan, Astana, Dec. 26/ Trend , K. Konirova/ Rompetrol, 75% shares of which is owned by KazMunayGaz group of companies, shipped first consignment of Euro-5 diesel of 3,000 tons and RON95 petrol of Euro-5 standard of 4,600 tons to Turkey for French Total from its own berth 9A (port Midia), press service of Trade House KazMunayGaz.

"Another consignment of Euro-5 products will be shipped on Dec. 26 and delivered to Bulgaria by barges for the branch Rompetrol-Bulgaria from the new 9B berth of port of Midia put into operation earlier this week," according to the press release. 

In future, Euro-5 fuel will be first of all, delivered to the filling stations of Rompetrol in Romania, Bulgaria and other European countries.

Fuel of Euro-5 standard began to be produced in Petromidia refinery of Rompetrol in 2008 within the planned capital expenses for the development of oil refining in line with the resolution of the European Union on introducing Euro-5 standard from Jan. 1. 2009.

At present, 100% of diesel and 25% of petrol produced by Petromidia meet Euro-5 standards while the volume of refining reached all-time high.

"Petromidia refinery plans use full capacity of the plant of 5mln tons and produce totally Euro-5 petrol and stop production of Euro-4 in 2010," Alibek Zhilbayev, deputy managing director of Rompetrol for production said.

The production of euro-5 products became possible due to the program of updating capacity of Petromidia refinery. The European experts have included the plant to the list of 25 most efficient refineries in Europe. It has already begun implementation of program on production of Euro-6 standard products in 2015-2016.

"It is noticeable that 80% of crude for refining in Petromidia is delivered by KazMunayGaz Trade House stock company from resources of KazMunayGaz Exploration&Production," press release said.
