Russia offers Turkmenistan to realize 60 joint economical projects

Turkmenistan, Ashgabat, Feb.10 / Trend corr E. Hasanov / During a joint business forum held in Ashgabat, Russian businessmen expressed their wishes to extend the activity in the Turkmen market with offering about 60 joint projects, state news service Turkmen Dovlat Khabarlari (TDK) reports. 

The extension of partnership is one of the basic goals of the Russian-Turkmen Business Council formed in 2007. The negotiations focused on Russia's presence in treatment and development of hydrocarbon resources of the Caspian sea and modernization of Turkmen economy's leading branches, in particular, energy field. Within the visit, the Russian business partners planned to hold meetings in ministries and state departments of Turkmenistan to make opportunities concrete.

The sides stressed an overwhelming potential and readiness of their countries to extend and diversify mutually beneficial trade and economical cooperation. They also noted the importance of regular meetings to reach common approaches.

The key question on the agenda was a preparation to Turkmen-Russian economical forum to be held in Moscow within the visit of Turkmen president Gurbangulu Berdimuhammadov in March 2009.  

"Being one of the world leaders in cutting-edge technologies, Russia possesses up-to-date scientific and manufacturing workings and modern Turkmenistan counts in its development," TDK reports. Due to the work of the Business Council in Turkmenistan, as many as 10 contracts were signed in private sector which concurs with the priority of the country.
