SOCAR operates as part of mooring less barreling system construction in Georgian Black Sea port

Design operations to determine location of mooring less system of big tankers' barreling without entering the port are being conducted on oil terminal in the Georgian Black Sea port of Kulevi, a source in the terminal close to operations said.

"Preparation and exploration operations on the project to determine location of the system are being conducted," the source said.

Exact day has not been set yet to announce tender for designing and construction of mooring less barreling system, he said.

Presently, operations to extend and deepen waterway are being conducted in the terminal's port. It will provide entry of large vessels in the port, the source said earlier.

SOCAR plans to pump about 8-10 million tones of oil and mineral oil via the Black Sea oil terminal in 2009, SOCAR said earlier.

Amount of SOCAR's investments in the terminal totaled $340 million.

Total capacity of the terminal's transfer makes up 10 million tones of oil-loading cargo per year. It includes three million tones of oil, three million tones of diesel oil and four million tones of black oil.

The terminal can lift up to 168 tank trucks at once.

Total volume of reservoir park makes up 320,000 cubic meters.

Capacity of the terminal is planned to increase 15-20 million tones during two years.
