Kazakhstan liquidated 36 wells of the self-isolating hydro-geological and petroleum emergency wells, said on Feb. 23 the representative of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan. Currently this department has left 12 such wells.
"This year the Ministry will liquidate six, and in 2010 six more wells. Possibly, this year the number of wells will change, because now coastline "left", and the flooded wells never proved to be on the shore," said the representative of Ministry.
Therefore, this year eight or nine wells will be liquidated possibly.
"After this it is intended to again inspect these petroleum and hydrogeological wells, and then there will be the following stage [of works] on the emergency wells," added the representative of Ministry.
