Azerbaijan actively operates to seek routes of gas delivery extracted in the Caspian Sea. From the point of view of long-term transit, Azerbaijan needs reliable, more profitable and effective routes for direct consumer market. These operations are conducted with European commission, concerned countries and companies within conception of south energy corridor, SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) president Rovnaq Abdullayev said at the international energy conference in Ashgabat.
"We regard transit countries as reliable and long-term partners both for countries-producers and countries-consumers. These countries must ensure gas transportation via its territory upon mechanisms of the clearest prices. These mechanisms will create reliable guarantees for uninterrupted and lasting functioning of transport corridors given export and gas transportation," Abdullayev said stressing transit potential of Azerbaijan.
Abdullayev also stressed readiness for cooperation on gas transportation to Europe, fuel transit and export upon acceptable terms.
