Azerbaijan, Baku, May 10 / Trend /

During the year, BP - operator of the development of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block - will supply (gratis) Azerbaijan about 1.45 billion cubic meters of associated gas produced during work on these fields, BP said. However, the volume of supply may be significantly higher than the forecast that will depend on the works to re-establish full production on the Central Azeri platform, stopped because of gas leak in September last year.

The representatives of the oil and gas industry of Azerbaijan, this year the country intends to receive at least three billion cubic meters of gas.

In 2008, Azerbaijan received 2.1 billion cubic meters of associated gas from the ACG.

In 2009, BP will be continuing to export gas from three platforms (Central Azeri, West Azeri and East Azeri) via 28-inch underwater pipeline to the Sangachal terminal and the system "Azerigas" for domestic consumption in the country.

Part of the associated gas produced on the Chirag platform, continue to be sent to the compressor station of SOCAR in Oil Rocks via the existing 16-inch underwater pipeline. The remaining gas from the ACG platform is sent via intrafield pipeline to the platform for boosting gas and water injection for re-injection into the formation and maintenance of reservoir pressure.

These operations were also suspended in connection with the investigation of the causes of gas leak on the Central Azeri platform. Currently, gas injection continues at the three wells of this platform.
