The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) produces 250,000 tons of oil from the Gum-Deniz field daily. A total of 56 wells are operated on the field.
Roughly 28 million tons of oil and 11 billion cubic metre of gas have been produced from the field since 1955.
SOCAR is planning to operate two new wells on the field. Earlier, SOCAR puts into operation a well of 3,415 metres depth. Daily capacity is 35 tons of oil and 50,000 cubic metre of gas.
There are 57 oil and gas fields in Azerbaijan, out of which 18 are offshore. SOCAR's staff is 62,000 people.
