SOCAR transported 411,000 tons of oil products via Georgian Black sea terminal Kulevi in the first quarter of 2009, SOCAR president Rovnag Abdullayev said in an interview with official press.
Over 1.4 million tons of oil products were transported via terminal in 2008.
Railroad infrastructure is planned to be reconstructed to increase volume of annual oil export via terminal in future, Abdullayev said.
Oil products export via Georgian terminal Kulevi is expected to hit 8-10 million tons in 2009.
Oil terminal was put into operation in Kulevi on May 16, 2008.
Summary capacity of terminal pumping hits 10 million tons of oil oil-loading freights per year, including 3 million tons of oil, 3 million tons of diesel oil, 4 million tons of black oil. It can receive 168 tank-trucks. Total volume of tank farm hits 320,000 cubic meters. Capacity of terminal is planned to increase 15-20 million tons within two years.
