The Closed Joint Stock Company (CJSC) "Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri" (engineering services) negotiates with the Gobustan operating company to clean the oil polluted lands and utilize oil sludge at the company's sections, General Director of CJSC Soltan Aliyev said.
"The negotiations still continue, but there is an initial agreement, that is, direct work is conducted to sign the contract," Aliyev said.
Aliyev said the supposed project area extends for 120 kilometers. But not all the territory of this section has been contaminated, and there is an area of localized contamination.
Ekol Muhendislik Xidmetleri was co-founded in March 2006 to solve ecological problems in Absheron by: SOCAR (51 percent) and Lancer S.A. Services (49 percent).
