Gas production to exceed 33bln cu m in Azerbaijan in 2015

The gas production will reach 33.2 billion cubic metre of gas in 2015, compared to 27 billion cubic metre of this year, the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) said.

Out of the total volume of gas, which will be produced in the country in 2015, 24 billion cubic metre will account for consortium of foreign companies which jointly with SOCAR are developing the sea oil and gas fields of Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, as well as the sea gas condensate field of Shah Deniz, which are located in the Azerbaijani section of the Caspian Sea. SOCAR will produce 9.2 billion cubic metre of gas out of the total volume in 2015.

A total of 6.5 billion cubic metre of gas will be transferred to Azerbaijan by the consortium of foreign companies in 2015. SOCAR, in its turn, will deliver 8.1 billion cubic metre of gas to the government from its own fields.

Out of the total volume of produced gas some 7.3 billion cubic metre will be exported and 8.2 billion cubic metre of gas will be pumped to layer to sustain pressure on the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field. The rest 3.1 billion will be used for own needs of the consortium of foreign companies and SOCAR.

Azerbaijan will produce 32.2 billion cubic metre of gas in 2014, compared to 27.8 billion cubic metre in 2010.

Out of the total volume of production some 23.5 billion cubic metre will account for the consortium of foreign companies in 2014, compared to 19.8 billion cubic metres in 2010. In 2014, SOCAR will produce 8.7 billion cubic metre of gas, compared to 8 billion cubic metre in 2010.

According to official data, in 2013, a total of 31.1 billion cubic metre of gas will be produced in the country, out of which 8.3 billion cubic metre accounts for SOCAR and 22.8 billion cubic metre for foreign companies.

The consortium of foreign companies will produce 21.8 billion cubic meters of gas in Azerbaijan in 2012, but SOCAR will independently produce eight billion cubic meters. Totally, 29.8 billion cubic meters of gas will be produced in the country in 2012.

In 2011, 28.3 billion cubic meters of gas will be produced in the country, of which the share of SOCAR will be 7.7 billion cubic meters and 20.6 billion cubic meters will be produced jointly with foreign companies.
