Kazakhstan to ship 1.2 mln barrels of oil via BTC in July

The American-Kazakh Tengizchevroil joint venture will ship 1.2 million barrels of Kazakh oil via the Turkish port of Ceyhan from Tengiz field in July.

To consignment of Tengiz oil will be shipped from Ceyhan port in July. The first consignment will be shipped on July 4-6 and second - on July 19-21, the Energy Intelligence Group reported to Trend . Head of the KazMunayGaz company Kairgaldi Kabyldin said earlier that a total of 5 million tons of Kazakh oil was planned to transport via the territory of Azerbaijan.

American ChevronTexaco began to transport oil from the Kazakh Tengiz field via Baku-Tibilibi-Ceyhan (BTC). In accordance with terms of agreement, the Tengiz oil will be transported via the BTC and railway to the Georgian Kulevi and Batumi Ports. Amount of the transported oil is expected to rise to 4mln tons a year. ChevronTexaco is an operator of the Kazakh Tengiz field.

The shareholders of BTC are BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.90 percent), StatoilHydro (8.71 percent), TRAO (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.40 percent), Inpex (2.50 percent), ConocoPhilips (2.50 percent) and Hess (2.36 percent).

Owner of Georgia's Kulevi Black Sea terminal is SOCAR and oil terminal in Batumi - KazMunayGaz.
