SOCAR to up oil shipment from Ceyhan in July

In Julyy, 2009 Socar will ship 16 million barrels of light oil from the Turkish port of Ceyhan. Totally Socar will ship 17 consignments of light oil from Ceyhan. A total of 27.2 million barrels of Azerbaijani light oil, which is delivered via the Baku-Tbilisi- Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline, will be shipped from the Turkish port of Ceyhan in July, the Energy Intelligence Group reported to Trend .

A total of $4 billion has been spent for the construction of 1,768 kilometres long BTC pipeline, not including the fulfillment of the pipeline, financial expenses and payment of the bank rates. The credit allocated for the project totalled $2.6 billion.

The shareholders of BTC are BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.90 percent), StatoilHydro (8.71 percent), TRAO (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.40 percent), Inpex (2.50 percent), ConocoPhilips (2.50 percent) and Hess (2.36 percent). The carrying capacity of the pipeline is 1 million barrel per day.
