Kazakhstan's share in Kazakh Caspian Transportation System hits 50 percent: KazMunayGaz vice-president

Share of KazMunayGaz will hit 50 percent in project of Kazakh Caspian Transportation System, the first vice-president of KazMunayGaz Maksat Idenov told Trend in Astana.

"Share of KazMunayGaz hits 50 percent in Kazakh Caspian Transportation System. Shares of two national companies 50x50 upon the agreement on major principles of Kazakh Caspian Transportation System realization signed between KazMunayGaz and Azerbaijani SOCAR in 2008," Idenov said. 

Earlier informed source from KazMunayGaz said that share of the company in Kazakh Caspian Transportation System will hit 51 percent. Moreover, minister of energy and mineral resources Sauat Mynbayev told media that Kazakhstan intend to get blocked package of shares in the amount of 51 percent. 

"Nothing changed since conclusion of the agreement between KazMunayGaz and SOCAR," the first vice-president of KazMunayGaz said.

Immutability of parity share of two companies was confirmed by SOCAR head in Kazakhstan Vurgun Jafarov in Azerbaijan interview with Trend .  

National companies of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan - KazMunayGaz and SOCAR signed the agreement on major principles of Kazakh Caspian Transportation System realization in Baku a month ago. Earlier this project was an idea. But the sides agreed that the project must be real over 2013-2014.

Kazakh Caspian Transportation System must ensure oil transportation in the amount of 23 million tons with further increase up to 35-56 million tons at initial stage. Major feature of the project is that oil will be pumped via the sea through Caucasus but not Russia.
