The State Oil Company of Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) Marketing and Economic Operation Department (MEOD) exported over one million tons of oil related products in January-June 2009, compared to 1.18 million tons in the same period in 2008.
The MEOD exported 160,000 tons of oil products in June.
Oil products are manufactured at two oil refining plants in Baku with a total capacity of 20 million tons of oil per year. Both plants are owned by SOCAR, which manufactures roughly 7 million tons of oil per day from offshore and onshore fields.
