Sumqayit and Guba electric power stations are planned to put into operation in Azerbaijan in 2009. These electric power stations will strengthen Azerbaijani export potentialities in power engineering, the Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev said at the governmental meeting on Azerbaijani social-economic development in the first six months presided by the Azerbaijani President.
Azerbaijan realized purposes in energy security, as well as oil and gas production were increased within this period. At present, Azerbaijan exports gas to neighboring countries, Ilham Aliyev said.
The Azerbaijani President said that realization of transport programs serves renewal of transport infrastructure within reporting period.
