Azerbaijan, Baku, Aug. 1 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/
In March 2010, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) plans to end processing and interpreting data, received as a result of two-dimensional (2D) geophysical research in onshore Zardab, Shikhbagi and eastern Shikhbagi units, a source in SOCAR said.
The source said it is planned to finish 2D research in units by late August.
"Field work on the units continues. It is planned to fully finish processing and interpreting data, as well as developing a report on this work in March next year," said the source. After completion of 2D seismic survey, the received data will be processed and interpreted.
The main objective of the work is to clarify geological structure and predict oil and gas sites of the unit.
Earlier the source said field work in these areas began in April and were maintained by methods of common depth point, breaking waves and gravity.
After completion of the interpretation, the work done will be presented to Azneft PU, which is a customer. The PU is a member of SOCAR.
There are 57 oil and gas fields, including 18 offshore and the remained onshore. SOCAR staff today is more than 62 thousand people.
