In the second quarter of 2010, BP plans to complete installation and testing of water injection systems for the next five wells on the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG), the development operator of which is BP, said the Company. This will provide an opportunity to upload 530,000 barrels of water per day in the reservoir bed in Deep Water Guneshli through 13 wells.

Within the STEP Program (Expansion program of Sangachal terminal), works are being carried out on the completion and commissioning of the facilities for the associated (layer) water. In late 2008, BP completed its work on project phases 1-3 and started transporting water to the Central Azeri field in March 2009. Repeated injection of water into layer of ACG was conducted in early July this year. The facilities within the fourth and fifth phases will be put into operation by the end of September this year.

Further work on the ACG project include testing of facilities for the associated water in the fourth and fifth phases (third quarter of 2009), installation of additional equipment for pumping water (first and second quarters of 2010), the transition of Chirag Oil Project to the stage of execution (fourth quarter 2009).
