The Turkish Botas state pipeline company imported roughly 19.2 billion cubic metre of gas from different sources in January-July compared to roughly 16.414 billion cubic meters in January-June. Botas imported 38 billion cubic meters of gas in 2008.
Around 16 billion cubic metre of imported gas accounted for natural gas and over 3.3 billion cubic metres of gas for liquefied gas.
In 2008, out of the total imported gas by Turkey 32.2 billion cubic metre accounted for natural gas and 5.6 billion for liquefied gas.
In July, Turkey used about 2.3 billion cubic metre of gas, compared to over 2.1 billion in June. Around 1.6 billion cubic metre was used in power stations, 155 million - by consumers and 523 million - in industrial enterprises. Turkey used around 19 billion cubic meters of gas in January-July.
In 2008, Turkey used 36 billion cubic metre of gas, compared to 35 billion cubic metre in 2007.
