Iran negotiates with China and South Korea to buy six vessels to transport liquefied gas

Director of the Iranian company for processing, Ali Heyrandish, said that Iran is currently negotiating with two companies from China and South Korea over purchase of six vessels carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG).

He said that besides them, two Iranian companies voiced their intention to participate in transportation of LNG, MEHR news agency said.

Heyrandish said that the agreement was reached to establish the fleet during recent discussions to transport LNG.

"Work to transport liquefied gas is carried out by Iranian gas-processing company upon the statute of 'Iran LNG' project, Heyrandish said.

"We plan to establish the concern with Iranian gas-processing company, consumers and companies transporting LNG", the director of the company said.

He said that there is a need for 12-14 ships to transport LNG, produced at the first and second phases of Iran LNG project.
