SOCAR plans to put into operation a new installation of a biological drain system refinement by the 60th anniversary of the Azerbaijani 'Oil Rocks' field, SOCAR said on September 4. The 'Oil Rocks' offshore field is being developed by SOCAR independently. Its reserves are well developed.

"At present, construction of the new installation continues. Operations are under completion. It is expected to be put into operation in time for the 'Oil Rocks' anniversary in November," a source said.

He said that the new installations' capacity was 400 cubic meters per day.

SOCAR's geologists said that the volume of oil at 'Oil Rocks' was 30 million tons. The 'Oil Rocks' field was the first field where Azerbaijan launched offshore extraction. In total 21 wells are planned to be drilled in this field.

Azerbaijan has 57 oil and gas fields, including 18 offshore wells. SOCAR has more than 62, 000 employees.
