The Baku oil refinery plant named after Heydar Aliyev (Former Azernerftyag) entering SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) produced 53,100 tons of oil coke in January-August, compared to 123,400 tons in the same period of 2008, SOCAR said.
SOCAR produced about 15,200 tons of oil coke in August, compared to 12,300 tons in July.
The Baku oil refinery plant produced 168,930 tons of oil coke in 2008 compared to 84,740 tons in 2007.
The Baku oil plant refined 67,240 tons of oil coke in 2006. In 2005 the plant did not produced oil coke. The Russian aluminum plants are the main consumers of the Azerbaijani oil-coke.
