Azerbaijan, Baku, October 5 / Trend , E.Ismailov /

Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Corridor Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) holds talks with Afghanistan, Greece, Egypt, China, Pakistan, Turkmenistan to extend the boundaries and geography of traffic along the corridor, Secretary General of the Permanent Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA Zhantoro Satybaldiyev said on Oct. 5 in Baku.

Satybaldiyev said that the Permanent Secretariat is open to all initiatives that contribute to strengthening regional transport dialogue and international cooperation.

TRACECA strategy envisages identifying priority regional infrastructure projects of the corridor and attracting investments for their implementation. "The development of the transport system in our region over the next few years is directly linked to the development of logistics and construction of transport and logistics centers," said Satybaldiyev.

Satybaldiyev said that the process of identification of key transport projects will also be implemented by the TRACECA countries, taking into account the new role of the intergovernmental commission of the corridor in the development of the south-east transport axis of the European Union, since TRACECA corridor is geographically located in direct relation to the transport axis.

Considering the integration process of the corridor into the trans-European transport networks and development of the south-east axis of the EU, was started the process of reforming the institutions of TRACECA in order to more clearly involve all affecting countries and their governments in the process of implementing the decisions of the Intergovernmental Commission TRACECA and the recommendations of the UN, said Satybaldiyev.
