Turkey appoints acting president for Botas

The Turkish government has appointed Mehmet Konuk as acting President of the State Pipeline Company Botas, Botas told Trend News on Oct.23.

The Turkish government has appointed Mehmet Konuk as acting President of the State Pipeline Company Botas, Botas told Trend on Oct.23.

Konuk was Assistant to former Head of the Botas State Pipeline Company Saltuk Duzyol, who was dismissed by the Turkish government. Duzyol became Director General and Chairman of Botas in December 2007.

New head for Botas has not been yet appointed. No information is provided on candidate for the company's new head and term for its appointment, the same source added.

Botas is mainly a participant of the Nabucco gas pipeline project worth €7.9 billion. The company also participates in the Blue Stream pipeline project.
