BP Azerbaijan allocates new grant to develop communities along pipelines

BP on behalf of partners on Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) , Shah Deniz projects and South Caucasian gas pipeline announced about allocation of a new grant to develop economic potentialities and skills in communities living along BTC and South Caucasian gas pipeline in Kurdamir, Ujar and Agdash, BP said.
The project aims to ensure long development of business in these three regions, favorable atmosphere for entrepreneurs and support for youth looking for a job.
This project will be realized by Azerbaijani NGO - Umid Humanitarian and Social Support Center. It was founded in 1997.
BP and partners have allocated $326,155. Moreover, communities will submit the project worth $43,760.
The project will be realized for 18 months from October 2009 to April 2011.
