Azerbaijan supplies oil to Ukraine without long-term contracts: SOCAR

Azerbaijan, Baku, November 14 / Trend /

SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) has not a long-term contract to supply its own oil to the Kremenchug refinery in Ukraine, a senior of SOCAR said on Nov. 14.

"Supply of Azerbaijani oil to the Kremenchug refinery in Ukraine is exercised on a commercial basis. The company has not long-term contract with this company," said the representative of SOCAR.

Oil supplies to the plant are carried out under the scheme of crude oil purchase by the company. Previously, the company has already received the Azeri crude, which they bought in the ports of the Black and Mediterranean Seas.

The Ukrainian media reported that the chairman of Ukrtatnafta JSC (which owns the company) Pavel Ovcharenko said that SOCAR is ready to supply Ukrtatnafta 600-700,000 tons of oil per month. He also noted that Russia ousts Azerbaijani companies with markets in Europe.

However, the representative of SOCAR said that they have no problems with the sale of its own product, and the company does not have any problems with Russia.
