Iranian oil refinery starts gasoline production: Iranian minister

The Iranian Imam Khomeini Oil Refinery launched gasoline production today, Iranian Oil Minister Seyyed Masoud Mir-Kazemi was quoted as saying by the Iranian Mehr news agency.

"Since the start of the project the country's potential gasoline production will increase by 14 million liters per day," he added.

According to the official, the country's nine refineries produce 45 million liters of gasoline per day.

"With the commencement of gasoline production at the Iranian Imam Khomeini Oil Refinery, Iran will produce about 60 million liters of gasoline," he added. 

Mir-Kazemi said gasoline production will gradually begin at other national refineries.
