In 2009, the Russian Black Sea port of Novorossiysk shipped about 44.5 million tons of oil, compared to 42.6 million tons in 2008, the port's official Web site reported.
Over 13.2 million tons of oil products were shipped in January-November 2009, compared to 11.2 million tons in the same period of last year.
A total of 86.5 million tons of various cargos was transported in 2009, compared to 81.6 million tons in 2008.
The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijani Republic (SOCAR) is shipping own gas via the Novorossiysk port. In 2009, SOCAR exported 2.5 million tons of oil via the north pipeline Baku-Novorossiysk compared to 1.2 million tons in 2008.
In 2010, oil export via the Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline is expected to be reduced. In 2010, the company will pump 1.8 million tons of the Azerbaijani oil via this pipeline.
