As a result of upgrade of the energy infrastructure, which provides Astara (South Azerbaijan) gas compressor station which is of great importance in Azerbaijani gas export to Iran with electricity, it became possible to supply electricity to the station on regular basis, SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) said on Jan. 21.
Earlier, outdated infrastructure resulted in interruptions in energy supply of the compressor station, and respectively, shutdown of the compressor. This hampered the process of gas transportation from Azerbaijan to Iran.
Besides operations on upgrade of electricity substations that provide the compressor station with electricity, one 110 / 0.4 kV power stabilizer, and two facilities on retaining voltage in the system have been installed at the compressor station. At the same time, the scheme of automatic connection of diesel power plant (source of offline power) was regulated.
