The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has sent a Neft Dashlari-2585 unit to the field of the same name in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea.

"The company launched one unit into the sea built at the Heydar Aliyev Deep Water Jacket Plant. The second unit will be sent after the first one is installed," a company source said.

He added that the plant continues to build the third unit.

"Construction should finish within two months," the source stressed.

SOCAR's Oil and Gas Construction Trust will construct the third unit.

A platform with a height of 64 meters will be installed at a depth of 46 meters along 500 meters of the five-unit Neft Dashlari-1887 platform. Twelve wells will be drilled.

The new platforms will allow stable oil production at the offshore field, Oily Rocks.

The measures are being implemented within the framework of an Azerbaijani presidential decree to increase production at the Neft Dashlari OGPU from 812,000 to 1.2 million tons (1.5 times).

SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier that the residual recoverable oil and gas reserves of Oily Rocks exceed 182 million tons of oil.
