Only the existing pipeline system will be commissioned during the first stage of the Kashagan field development, said Kairgeldi Kabyldin, the chairman of the KazMunayGas National Company managing board.
"Only the existing pipeline system will be commissioned during the first stage of the Kashagan field development, which will produce from 370,000 to 450,000 barrels of oil per day," Kabyldin stressed.
In accordance with schedule, the project on expanding the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC) should complete by the beginning of production from Kashagan in 2012 or beginning of 2013.
"At the same time, additional capacities will appear to transport the Kashagan oil by commissioning the oil pipeline from the West Kazakhstan to West China," Kabyldin said.
Furthermore, the existing Aktau - Baku - the Back Sea corridor will be exploited.
"It will enable to say that the first volume of experimental industrial development will utilize the existing system of pipelines. During further development of Kashagan we plan to establish the Kazakhstan Caspian Transportation System. We also intend to develop new Baku-the Black Sea route," Kabyldin informed.
The projects will be realized simultaneously with schedule of developing Kashagan field.
"We hope the plans will be realized in time and adequate transport system will created by the beginning of full field development of Kashagan," Kabyldin added.
