BP company intends to develop energy projects in Azerbaijan, in which it participates SOCAR head Rovnag Abdullayev said, commenting on rumors of possible sale of BP's assets in Azerbaijan.
"At the meeting BP President Tony Hayward [he is on a working visit to Azerbaijan] noted that the company remains committed to these projects and will do everything for their further development", Abdullayev said.
He said that good results and income have been achieved on BP's projects in Azerbaijan, in particular, such as the development of offshore fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli and gas condensate field Shah Deniz, as well as pipeline projects Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum pipeline (South Caucasus gas pipeline).
Abdullayev said that BP's problems in the Gulf of Mexico do not affect realization of the company's projects in Azerbaijan.
