Experts uncovered a productive layer with a depth of 3,600-3,606 meters while drilling Well No. 26 on the South Kamishlija Field in Turkmenistan's Balkan region.

Turkmenneft reported that the product inflow is over 500,000 cubic meters of gas and 200 tons of condensate.

"Although this is only an initial estimate, it is necessary to control measurements, verification, and testing to ensure the precision daily production rate of new wells," the source reported.

Experts call the productive layer "practically a new block." Plans include drilling the well with a projected depth of 3,800 meters at a location 750 meters south of Well No. 226.

Turkmenistan is a major player on the regional energy market. The country exports natural gas to China, Iran and Russia.
