Daily average oil production from ACG fields exceeds 850,000 barrels

At present, BP, operator of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) fields daily produces about 860,000 barrels of oil per day from the field, a source in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which produces oil from the ACG together with foreign partners, said.

At present, BP, operator of the development of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) fields daily produces about 860,000 barrels of oil per day from the field, a source in the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), which produces oil from the ACG together with foreign partners, said.

In 2010, BP plans to produce 42.1 million tons of oil from the ACG compared to the more than 40.3 million tons in 2009. In 2010, daily average oil production on the field will amount to 854,000 barrels.

Along with oil the field also produces gas, part of which is pumped into the reservoir to maintain production levels, and part is given to SOCAR free of charge.

According to the source, at present, the field's daily associated gas production hits 35-36 million cubic meters.

In total, BP within the ACG project plans to give1.9 billion cubic meters of associated gas to SOCAR in 2010. SOCAR received about four billion cubic meters of gas in 2009 compared to the planned 1.45 billion cubic meters.

The project participants are: BP (operator - 34.1367 percent of share holding), Chevron (10.2814 percent), SOCAR (10 percent), INPEX (10 percent), Statoil (8.5633 percent), ExxonMobil (8.006 percent), TPAO (6.75 percent), Devon Energy (5.6262 percent), Itochu (3.9205 percent), Delta Hess (2.7213 percent).
