Iran reduces energy consumption

During the first half of the year, which in Iran begins on March 21, consumption of gasoline and diesel fuel was about 28.7 billion liters, 670 million liters less compared with the same period of last year, Mehr news agency reports.

In the first half of this year Iran consumed 11.8 billion liters of gasoline and 16.8 billion liters of diesel fuel, while during the same period of last year consumption was 12.4 and 15.6 billion liters respectively.

According to data published by the Iranian Oil Products Refining and Distribution Company, in the second half of March and in the first half of April of this year, average gasoline consumption in the country amounted to 65.3 million liters per day, which was 2.26 billion liters per month in total.

Average daily gasoline consumption gradually reduced to 1.9 billion liters in April and May of this year.

Average daily consumption increased to 61.9 million liters of gasoline per day, totaling nearly two billion liters in May and June.

Average daily consumption increased to 66.9 million liters of gasoline per day, totaling 2.74 billion liters in June and July.

Average daily consumption reduced to 64 million liters per day and totaled 1.987 billion liters in July and August.

In September, average daily gasoline consumption in Iran was 63.7 million liters per day and in total Iran used 1.974 billion liters of oil products.
