State Standardization Committee: gas stations sell low-quality fuel

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct.6 / Trend E. Ismailov /

A number of gas stations in Azerbaijan have been found to sell low quality fuel, the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents said.

Monitoring took place in the Lankaran, Astara, Lerik, Masalli, Yardimli, Jalilabad and Bilasuvar regions of the republic. Accordingly, three gas stations were found to be selling diesel fuel that did not meet standard requirements, and two gas stations were found to be selling A-95 petrol with mechanical impurities. Some 12 gas stations did not met measurement standards: instead of selling 10 liters of gas, the stations were found to be selling 9.6-9.8 liters of fuel to consumers.

Monitoring held in 71 stations in the Mingachevir, Yevlakh, Barda, Gabala, Shaki, Zagatala and Ujar regions, showed that five gas stations were selling diesel fuel that did not meet standard requirements, and two stations were selling A-95 petrol with mechanical impurities.

In all cases, the State Committee drew up protocols and stopped the sale of fuel.
