The transport infrastructure is the lifeline for every country. But Iran does not pay sufficient attention to its transport sector, Mahmoud Rostamafshar, a transport expert, was quoted by ISNA as saying.

"The transport sector has a special status and importance to the economy. But the amount of the credits allocated to this sector in Iran is not enough.

Rostamafshar said that the biggest problem in the Iranian transport sector is lack of knowledge in managing the construction projects and human resources.

Today, Iran is far behind Turkey in its transport sector. Iran has highly skilled specialists. But in practice transportation solutions have not achieved the desired result yet.

The direct investments to the rail network will contribute to developing the Iranian economy.

Earlier, the European Commission has started blocking the plans of developing the Iranian transport system and its integration in European transport network. These actions of the European Commission are related to the international sanctions against Iran.
