The Pavlodar Petrochemical Plant increased bitumen production by 71 percent in 2010, General Director Shukhrat Danbai said.

"Given the high demand for bitumen for road construction and repair in the country, the enterprise increased production by 71 percent from 65,000 tons in 2009 to 110,800 tons in 2010," Danbai said at a meeting of KazMunaiGas - Processing and Marketing.

According to him, a long-term program adopted in the country to increase bitumen production and sales will also contribute to the organization of debugged logistic schemes for product deliveries to consumers.

The design capacity at the plant is 7.5 million tons of oil a year. From August 2009, the plant has been a member of the KMG National Company, which has become one of the major positive factors for its technical and socioeconomic growth.
