Kazakhstan, Astana, Feb.24 / Trend A. Maratov /
JSC NC KazMunaiGas does not plan to purchase new assets abroad in the coming years, Tolegen Bozzhanov, Managing Director Director for Business Development of the NC KMG, said in an interview with Trend.
"This year, the national company does not plan to buy assets from abroad, as we are, first, limited in finances, and secondly, we turned our eyes to the domestic market, where we are faced with the task of modernizing all three oil refineries, " Bozzhanov said.
Ukrainian Ambassador to Kazakhstan Oleg Demin told Trend earlier, his country invites Kazakhstan to participate in the modernization of any of its refineries or take part in the construction of a new plant.
Previously it was also reported that Kazakhstan plans to buy gas stations in Ukraine or Turkey, whose markets, according to experts, are very attractive.
"Now we are only studying foreign markets. If there are good proposals, financially attractive and under which it will be easy to attract investments, then why not. But this year we do not plan to buy anything. While we are talking about the future," the managing director said.
Regarding to the participation in the modernization of existing oil refineries in Ukraine, then, according to Bozzhanov, everything will depend on how the proposal will be.
"And if we would be interested then we are ready to consider it. And now it has no meaning for us to build a new plant in Ukraine, since available capacities in Europe is enough, and even there is a surplus of them. In addition, the European economy has not recovered from the crisis, and it is much cheaper to buy an existing plant than to build a new one, especially in Europe," he said.
