A recent audit of the Kulevi Oil Terminal's operational processes aimed to confirm the terminal's capabilities.
The terminal initiated the audit, the source said, "to demonstrate and confirm its possibilities."
Earlier, Kulevi Oil Terminal and Kulevi Port hosted TengizChevrOil and Cross Caspian Oil and Gas Logistics representatives.
The audit covered the terminal facility procedures and inspection. Special attention was paid to shore tank calibration tables, loading and offloading processes, and safety and security issues.
The departments provided information and organized on-the-job observations for guests to watch the process on site.
The terminal has transported Kazakh oil from the Tengiz Field since July 2010. Earlier, the terminal transported oil products.
The Kulevi Oil Terminal planned to handle 4 million tons of oil in 2011 compared to 3.6 million tons in 2010. Of the total volume, 1.5 million will fall to the Kazakh oil.
The terminal was launched in summer 2008. Its total capacity is 10 million tons of oil per year, including 3 million tons of oil, 3 million tons of diesel fuel, and 4 million tons of fuel oil.
The terminal can accommodate up to 168 tank cars. The tank farm's total volume is 320,000 cubic meters, with the possibility of increasing to 380,000 cubic meters. The port has two berths to load petroleum products in tankers of up to 100,000 tons.
