Deputy Head of West Kazakhstan Region Berik Tolumbayev was appointed the New Deputy Oil and Gas Minister, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said.

Deputy Head of West Kazakhstan Region Berik Tolumbayev was appointed the New Deputy Oil and Gas Minister, Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov said.

"I have appointed Tolumbayev the New Deputy Oil and Gas Minister," Masimov wrote on his personal page on Twitter.

Tolumbayev was born in the Burnoe village in the Zhambyl region. Since 1999 he has been working in the oil and gas industry.

Since 2001 Tolumbayev was deputy director of commodity-transport operations at KazTransOil, since 2003 the deputy director of transportation and in 2006-2007 he served as the KazTransOil director general.

He served as CEO of KMG-Transcaspian from January 2010 to April 2010. Tolumbayev was the appointed deputy akim of the western Kazakhstan region and was responsible for industry, foreign economic relations, tariff and customs policy.
