Iran to rise 4 times gas delivery to petrochemical sector by 2015

This solar year (started on 21 March) about 40 million cubic meters of gas will be delivered to petrochemical sector and the figure will rise to 163 million cubic meters up to the end of the fifth five year development plan in 2015, reported Shana.ir gouting deputy minister of petroleum for planning and supervision over hydrocarbon resources as saying.

Addressing at the Ninth International Petrochemical Forum in Tehran on Saturday, Mr. Khojastemehr said it is forecast that petrochemical exports to make up 18 billion of 45 billion dollars of non-oil exports this year due to high value added and desirable export potentials.

Calling the petrochemical sector as the axis of industrial development in the world, the official noted the sector is industrial, scientific and economic due to its advantages.
He named adequate feedstock and rich gas reserves as the most important advantages for investment in petrochemical industry in Iran adding while the role of crude oil and natural gas in energy basket of the world is undeniable, paying attention to these elements for investment in petrochemical sector is crucial.

'Currently designing, installation and building of petrochemical units are carried out fully by Iranian experts and local manufacturers produce up to 60 percent of the needed goods and equipments of the petrochemical sector, Khojastemehr noted.

The Ninth International Petrochemical Industry Forum kicked ff on Saturday in the presence of the first vice president Mohammad Reza Rahimi at the IRIB conference hall in Tehran.
Widespread participation of the Iranian privatized petrochemical companies and existence the possibility of interaction with world petrochemical industry are among the remarkable characteristics of the two day forum.

New technologies of the petrochemical industry, investment opportunities, environmental impacts of petrochemical industry, raw materials, the future of the petrochemical industry in Iran and the Middle East, world economy crisis, the opportunity for development of the complementary and intermediary industries in petrochemical sector, reducing the price of the petrochemical products and value chain are the most topics of the Ninth International Petrochemical Industry Forum.

112 participants from 25 foreign petrochemical companies plus economic attachés from 43 countries around the world are present at the event. 840 participants from 260 petrochemical companies are present at this year's forum.
