The SOCAR Gas Processing Plant plans to process 4.7 billion cubic meters of gas by late 2011 compared to 4.2 billion cubic meters in 2010, President Agshin Pashayev said.

He said the plant's refining capacity is 5.1 billion cubic meters of gas a year.

However, due to the fact that the gas processed at the plant is high
pressure gas, the plant only receives it from fields owned by the 28 May Oil and Gas Department.

Therefore, the plant processes small volumes of gas.

"An increase is expected in the processing volumes in 2011, particularly, 4.7 billion cubic meters of gas is planned to be processed," Pashayev said.

The plant received 4.03 billion cubic meters of purified gas in 2010
compared to more than 3.8 billion cubic meters in 2009.

The plant produced 28,100 tons of natural gasoline in 2010 compared to more than 27,000 tons in 2009. In 2010, the plant has produced 25,000 tons of liquefied gas.
