In the near future, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) will commission a new gas station under its own brand in the Khatai district of Baku, a source in SOCAR said.
He said the new station will be located on the Babak prospect.
"Construction work is underway, and the gas station will be commissioned in summer," the source said.
At present, there are more than 10 gas stations operating under SOCAR brand in Azerbaijan.
In total, SOCAR intends to open 80-100 gas stations in Azerbaijan. In particular, the gas stations will be located at major highways.
SOCAR Petroleum shareholders are SOCAR (51 percent) and the American A.P. International (49 percent). SOCAR Petroleum was registered on Jan. 21, 2008.
At present, SOCAR has more than 70 gas stations in Georgia. It gradually opens filling stations in Ukraine. It also operates to open gas stations in Romania.
